David Ferrer and Kei Nishikori join the rest of the men's field in third-round action at the All-England Club.
Spanish world No. 5 David Ferrer continues his quest for Olympic glory on Wednesday, with the Spaniard taking on Japan's Kei Nishikori for a quarterfinal berth.
The two men have met twice, splitting the wins at one each. Nishikori won their last encounter last year, but that was on home soil in Tokyo.
Ferrer has been superbly consistent this year, with the Spaniard making the semi-finals at Roland Garros and the quarters at Wimbledon. He has amassed an impressive 51-9 record on the season and won five titles.
Nishikori is ranked 17th in the world and is also having a solid season, though he hasn't come close to posting the sort of results Ferrer has. His best showing of the year was a quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open.
Prediction – With Ferrer's rock-solid groundstrokes, great return game and superior movement, the No. 4 seed should find himself with at least a chance in the medal hunt.
