Rosol advances in Kitzbuhel, Garcia-Lopez bounced Lukas Rosol is through to the second round in Kitzbuhel after dismissing Teymuraz Gabashvili. Guillermo Garcia-Lopez is not as fortunate, with the No. 6 seed going down to Jurgen Zopp in easy straight sets.

    Lukas Rosol d. Teymuraz Gabashvili 7-6(4), 6-1

Rosol kicked off his campaign at the bet-at-home Cup by taking care of Gabashvili in one hour and 44 minutes on Sunday afternoon. The big-hitting Czech, now famous for his recent Wimbledon upset of Rafael Nadal, struck only three aces and dropped serve twice but he made up for it with four breaks of his own.

The competitors exchanged two breaks apiece in set one before Rosol took the ensuing tiebreaker seven points to four. From there it was all Rosol the rest of the way. The world No. 97 saved all three of the break points he faced in set two and added two more breaks before closing out he proceedings on serve at 5-1. Next up for Rosol is qualifier Antonio Veic, who ousted No. 8 seed Blaz Kavcic 6-1, 6-2.

    Jurgen Zopp d. (6) Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-1, 6-3

Garcia-Lopez's stay in Kitzbuhel did not last long; one hour and 19 minutes on Monday afternoon to be exact. The sixth-seeded Spaniard was horrendous on serve, firing no aces while double-faulting five times. He held only twice in eight service games.

Zopp, on the other hand, put in 73 percent of his first deliveries and held serve the entire way in the opening set. The 80th-ranked Estonian was broken twice in the second but Garcia-Lopez was already on the fast track to defeat at that point. Zopp will go up against Wayne Odesnik for a spot in the quarterfinals.
