    Ferrer, Almagro lead field in Bastad World No. 5 David Ferrer makes his return to clay-court competition for the second week of July as the ATP World Tour heads to Bastad, Sweden for the SkiStar Swedish Open. The veteran enters into the tournament seeded first.

    World No. 5 David Ferrer is back on court following a quarterfinal finish at Wimbledon. The 30-year-old has compiled a 47-9 season record, aided by a title-winning efforts in Auckland, Buenos Aires, Acapulco and 's-Hertogenbosch.

    Ferrer will be making his seventh appearance at the SkiStar Swedish Open, where he took home the championship crown in 2007. The world No. 5 tops a challenging half of the draw that includes (3) Albert Ramos, (6) Grigor Dimitrov and (8) Adrian Ungur.

    Additional players in the same section are Horacio Zeballos, Joao Souza, Frederico Gil and former world No. 5 Tommy Robredo. After a first-round bye, Ferrer is slated to commence his run against either Paul Capdeville or Simone Bolelli.

    World No. 11 Nicolas Almagro leads the bottom half alongside fellow seeds (4) Jarkko Nieminen, (5) Mikhail Kukushkin and (7) Filippo Volandri.

    The 26-year-old is set to compete in his 7th SkiStar Open, where he captured the title in 2010.

i dont like the concept of post wimbledon clay court events but looks like Almagro and Ferrer like to play on clay all the time
