  • Rosol brought back to earth at Wimbledon

    7/1/12 4:30 AM | Johan Lindahl
Rosol brought back to earth at Wimbledon Czech Lukas Rosol will resume his regular journeyman's life on the ATP after upsetting Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon.

He was brought back to earth at the weekend in a 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) loss to German Philipp Kohlschreiber.

As planned originally, the No. 100 will be competing at a Challenger in Germany next week after exiting in the third round at the Grand Slam. "I'm going to play at the event that I won last year," said the good-natured 26-year-old. "But then I'm going to play Stuttgart and Hamburg, the two ATPs in Germany."

Rosol admitted that he would have liked to have backed up his upset of Nadal, a two-time Wimbledon champion. "I would prefer to play here, of course, rather than the challenger in Germany.

"But it's OK. I'm always playing good this part of the year so I'm looking forward to win couple more matches in this month and hope it's going to be fine."

Rosol said that at least for a few days, his life changed. "They (media) ranking me from Brazil and other places, like France. I always answer the same questions."

The Czech will also remain true to his word to play Swiss league tennis this summer for Cologny Geneve, his team from a year ago. "They asked me to play again in his club, and I said yes. I will be there."
