    UNICEF Open- Ferrer wins, Melzer upset Top seed David Ferrer is through to the final eight in 's-Hertogenbosch after downing Argentina’s Leonardo Mayer. The World No. 6 is joined in the quarterfinal by Japan’s Tatsuma Ito, who upset third seed Jurgen Melzer.

    (1) David Ferrer def. Leonardo Mayer 6-3, 6-1

    World No. 6 David Ferrer advanced to the quarterfinal, having upended Argentine Leonardo Mayer in straight sets. The 30-year-old veteran surrendered just 6 points on serve through 60 minutes of play. Ferrer completed the round of 16 effort with four of 4 break points converted.

    He is scheduled to take wildcard Igor Sijsling on for a place in the semifinal.

    Tatsuma Ito def. (3) Jurgen Melzer 6-2, 6-2

    World No. 70 Tatsuma Ito is through to the final eight by virtue of his straight-sets victory over 3rd seed Jurgen Melzer. The 24-year-old converted four of 6 break points en route to a 6-2, 6-2 win in just 57 minutes. The Austrian struggled with his second serve, unable to capture more than 29% of the points.

    Ito will face Benoit Paire in the quarterfinal.
