• Murray again heads his home Queens field

    5/3/12 2:49 PM | Johan Lindahl
Murray again heads his home Queens field Five of the current ATP top 10, led by No. 4 Andy Murray, will populate the entry list for the Queen's Club grass-court tuneup next month in London.

Defending champ Murray, who also lifted the home trophy in 2009, heads a field which includes four-time champion Andy Roddick, Jo Wilfried Tsonga and Juan Martin Del Potro plus the latest leading entries, No.8 Janko Tipsarevic and No.9 Mardy Fish.

The additions mean that six of the top 12 will be on court in west London, making the defection of Rafael Nadal to the Halle event in Germany now just a memory.

Tipsarevic is riding his career-best ranking while Fish, who has not played for nearly six weeks, will be aiming for a return after losing the final in 2010 to California compatriot Sam Querrey.

Frenchman Gilles Simon and Richard Gasquet, plus one-time Grand Slam finalists David Nalbandian and Marcos Baghdatis are also joining the pre-Wimbledon field. Young talent in the form of American Ryan Harrison and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov are also on the entry list, which also features 22nd-ranked Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka and Croatian Marin Cilic.

Of course he would play on his home court. Wouldn't want to snub his sponsors and supporters. Give it another year or two though before Delpo and Tsonga also move on to Halle where they DONT get taxed heavily by the Brits.

yes, I'm sure the entries of MARDY FISH and JANKO TIPSAREVIC will make the tournament organizers just forget that Nadal won't be there.

Um, NO.

Murray shoild try to build some caracter and momentum for 2013. I really doubt he can make a dent into the top three although Ihad him and Fed T first glance the upper hand. It seems only Fed is gonna get that upper hand seeing him beat Rafa easiley at Wells.
Murray must make a plan and strategy with Ivan and his team. for peaking olympic and USOpen but if it fails pull trough to 013 just like Fed is doing from 011 to 012.... I believe in Murray after 2012.
