• Murray looks to regroup in Miami

Murray looks to regroup in Miami World No. 4 Andy Murray will attempt to rebound after an abbreviated effort at the BNP Paribas Open, as the ATP World Tour heads to Miami for the Sony Ericsson Open. The Scot enters the Masters 1000 draw seeded fourth.

World No. 4 Andy Murray makes his return to hard-court competition following an opening-round exit in Indian Wells. The 24-year-old was unable to win a match, having fallen to Spain’s Guillermo Garcia Lopez in straight sets.

Murray is bidding for his first Miami victory since 2009, when he captured the championship title over World No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Murray tops a competitive quarter of the draw that includes (7) Tomas Berdych, (9) Janko Tipsarevic, (13) Gilles Simon, (18) Alexandr Dolgopolov, (22) Jurgen Melzer, (26) Milos Raonic and (29) Juan Ignacio Chela.

Additional players in the section are Nicolas Mahut, Grigor Dimitrov, Andreas Seppi, Robin Haase, former world No. 3 David Nalbandian and wildcard Fernando Gonzalez, who begins his final ATP World Tour event this week.

After a first-round bye, Murray is scheduled to commence his run against either Denis Istomin or Alejandro Falla.

A victory in the opening-round will likely set a third-round meeting with Raonic. Successful progress through the draw may bring a round of 16 clash with Simon and a quarterfinal battle with world No. 7 Berdych.
