Anderson wins Delray Beach for second career title Kevin Anderson beats Marinko Matosevic in straight sets to capture the Delray Beach title on Sunday. It's the second career ATP triumph for Anderson while Matosevic was playing in his first final.

Kevin Anderson beat Marinko Matosevic 6-4, 7-6(2) in the final of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships on Sunday afternoon. Anderson fired eight aces as he survived a tough two-set encounter in one hour and 57 minutes.

Both players came out in shaky form form; so much so that the first five games were all lost by the server. Anderson had not been broken a single time in a semifinal upset of John Isner, but he donated his first two service games against Matosevic. The 6'8'' South African made up for it with three breaks of his own, and finally he held three straight times to clinch the set.

The two competitors settled their nerves in the second, which progressed in much different fashion without any breaks. Matosevic saved an incredible eight break points to keep himself on level terms and stay within striking distance of his heavily-favored opponent. The Australian managed to force a tiebreaker, but in the end he crumbled. Anderson raced away with the 'breaker seven points to two for victory.

"Both of us were a little nervous at the start of match, so I had to find my rhythm," said Anderson, who captured his second career title having previous triumphed last year in Johannesburg. "It feels fantastic. It's my first one in the United States, which is great. I feel apart from South Africa, this is my new home."

"Before the week, if you told me that I’d make the final, I’d be the happiest guy in the world," assured Matosevic, who had won only three previous ATP matches and had to qualify just to get into the main draw. "Then when you get there and you play the match, I feel like I was just a few points from winning the match or turning the match, but I just couldn’t do it."
