World No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga makes his return to competition for the final week of February, set to headline play at the Open 13 in Marseille. Joining the Frenchman is world No. 8 Mardy Fish, who enters the draw as the second seed.
Top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga heads to Marseille with a 9-1 record, aided by an early season title-winning effort in Doha. The 26-year-old will be taking part in his 5th Open 13, where he hoisted the championship trophy in 2009.
Tsonga leads the top half of the draw that includes (4) Rotterdam finalist Juan Martin Del Potro, (5) Richard Gasquet, and (8) Andreas Seppi. Additional players in the section are Nikolay Davydenko, Flavio Cipolla, Andreas Beck, Igor Kunitsyn, Go Soeda and Jarkko Nieminen.
After a first-round bye, the world No. 6 will begin his bid against either veteran Arnaud Clement or Nicolas Mahut.
World No. 8 Mardy Fish tops the bottom half of the draw, where he is joined by fellow seeds (3) Janko Tipsarevic, (6) Alexandr Dolgopolov, and (7) Ivan Ljubicic.
Other competitors in the same section include Paul-Henri Mathieu, Karol Beck, Adrian Mannarino, Lukas Rosol, and Michael Llodra.
Following an opening-round bye, the Amercian is scheduled to meet either Matthias Bachinger or qualifier Albano Olivetti.
