  • Youzhny rolls over Lacko, wins Zagreb title

Youzhny rolls over Lacko, wins Zagreb title Mikhail Youzhny takes care of Lukas Lacko in straight sets on Sunday to win the Zagreb title. Youzhny also triumphs in the doubles final later in the day with partner Marcos Baghdatis.

Mikhail Youzhny won the eighth ATP title of his career on Sunday, beating Lukas Lacko 6-2, 6-3 in the final of the PBZ Zagreb Indoors. Youzhny did not face a single break point en route to prevailing in one hour and nine minutes.

Lacko was competing in his first ATP final, and it showed. The unseeded Slovak served extremely well in the first set (79 percent) but he still dropped serve twice. Youzhny's second break of the day finished off the opener in style.

Youzhny continued to play stellar tennis in set two, so it mattered little that Lacko raised his level. The underdog dropped only five service points in the entire set, but four of those came in the same game and that led to a quick break. Youzhny consolidated his lead the rest of the way and served out the proceedings to love at 5-3.

"It feels really good, as it was my best match of the tournament," said Youzhny, who wrapped up his effort with four aces and one double-fault. "That's why I won today. It's tough to compare my level today with previous years, but for sure today was my best tennis of the week."

The 39th-ranked Russian turned right around and also won the doubles title, teaming up with singles semifinalist Marcos Baghdatis.
