    1/29/12 11:32 PM | Kelli DeMario
Monaco, Chela lead field in Viña del Mar Countrymen Juan Monaco and Juan Ignacio Chela make their respective returns to competition for the first week of February, as the ATP World Tour begins the South American clay-court swing in Chile.

World No. 27 Juan Monaco heads to Viña del Mar looking to regroup after suffering an early loss at the Australian Open. The Argentine was unable to win a match at the tournament, having fallen to Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber in five sets.

Monaco leads the top half of the draw that includes (4) Pablo Andujar, (5) Albert Montanes and (6) Santiago Giraldo. Additional players in the section are Paul Capdeville, Igor Andreev, Maximo Gonzalez, Frederico Gil, Jeremy Chardy and Leonardo Mayer.

After a first-round bye, Monaco will take on either Andreev or Capdeville in the round of 16.

Fellow Argentine Juan Ignacio Chela enters the draw as the second seed this week. The veteran has been placed in the bottom half alongside (3) 2010 champion Thomaz Bellucci, (7) Carlos Berlocq and (8) Filippo Volandri.

Other combatants in the same section include Daniel Gimeno-Traver, Ricardo Mello, Nicolas Massu, Pere Riba and four-time winner Fernando Gonzalez.

Following an opening-round bye, Chela is slated to meet either Adrian Ungur or Horacio Zeballos.
