Qualifier Jarkko Nieminen took home his second ATP World Tour title following his straight-set championship victory over Julien Benneteau. The Finn came through the match early Sunday, 6-2, 7-5.
Jarkko Nieminen captured his second tour-level crown, having downed Julien Benneteau in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. The Finn extended his series lead to 5-0 over the Frenchman, who remains without a tour title.
"I tried to focus and win every point I could. I think I managed to do that pretty well," said Nieminen.
"I don't have a good record in finals, but I don't think I've done anything wrong in the ones I've played. Today I felt I had a really good chance to take the title as I had the game to do it. It's been many years since that first title and I had many finals after that, but I'm pretty good at believing in myself."
Nieminen completed the effort with four service breaks and 74% of his first-service points captured.
