Andy Murray says it's all going great under the wing of new coach Ivan Lendl, and has even taken to referring to his new 51-year-old mentor as "Mr."
The Scot is on the trail of a first Grand Slam title after falling short three times in finals, most recently at the Australian Open a year ago.
Lendl was in the stands as Murray won the Brisbane title at the weekend and will be on hand as his charge trains this week at Melbourne Park and wraps it all up with an exhibition at Kooyong club against David Nalbandian.
Murray, 24, finds Lendl's long-term outlook a positive force. "He's not worried about today's match, or the day before, or the Open, he's worried about putting in the right work, giving everything I can.
"People say I haven't done this and I haven't done that, but as long as I give 100 per cent and put in the hard work, there's nothing more that I can do. Someone like Lendl is not going to let me get away with 90 per cent.
"I'll give everything I can and he will make sure I'm prepared as well as possible and have the right mindset for the big events."
The pair however, are not joined at the hip, with Lendl working mainly as a consultant with hands-on work programmed for only part of the season. "He won't be with me every single minute of the day but the time we spend together will be honest, open, good fun. He has got a similar sense of humour to me, he is a funny guy but very hardworking," said Murray.
