1/7/12 1:52 AM | Cheryl Murray
Top seed Andy Murray will take on native Aussie Bernard Tomic in a highly anticipated semifinal at the Brisbane International.
This will be the first meeting between Andy Murray and Bernard Tomic. Murray is ranked No. 4 in the world, Tomic is ranked 42, but the Aussie is in the kind of form that could cause trouble for Murray.
Until his quarterfinal against Marcos Baghdatis, Murray has not been in the best form this tournament. He was taken to 3 sets in his first two rounds and generally looked rusty. He found his feet in the quarters however, and he should be ready to go against Tomic.
Australia’s top player has only dropped one set this week. He is on his way up the rankings and his unconventional game could surprise the world No. 4.
Murray will look to attack the Tomic serve with his excellent return and exploit the Aussie’s relative lack of speed around the court. Tomic, conversely, will mix up his shots and take away Murray’s rhythm.
Prediction – Murray in 3.
