    Chennai - Wawrinka, Raonic advance Tournament seeds Stanislas Wawrinka and Milos Raonic are through to the quarterfinal after recording victories over respective opponents Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Victor Hanescu.

    Defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka survived a difficult opening round, having rallied to defeat lucky loser Edouard Roger-Vasselin in three sets. The Swiss tallied 10 aces and five service breaks, through to a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win in two hours and 25 minutes. After losing serve three times in the opening set, Wawrinka held nine of 10 service games in sets two and three.

    He will face qualifier Go Soeda in the quarterfinals. Soeda upset fifth seed Ivan Dodig in the second round, 7-6(6), 6-3.

    (4) Milos Raonic def. Victor Hanescu 6-1, 6-4

    Fourth seed Milos Raonic is through to the final eight following his straight-set win over veteran Victor Hanescu. The 21-year-old saved four of four break points en route to a 6-1, 6-4 success in 74 minutes. Raonic completed the second-round effort with nine aces and three service breaks.

    He is slated to take on Dudi Sela for a place in the semifinals. Sela rallied to take out Benoit Paire in round two, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
