Australian Bernard Tomic has some explaining to do to his local Queensland constabulary.
The teen was warned at the weekend about driving like a "hoon" on the streets of his hometown on the Gold Coast between Brisbane and Sydney.
The No. 42 was cautioned for his apparently reckless driving style, helped in no small part by the $150,000 bright orange BMW M3 he motors around in.
The 19-year-old Wimbledon quarter-finalist still has just a learner driving permit and under the law would not be allowed to use such a powerful motor. But authorities in Surfers Paradise have given him permission to use his hot wheels for trips to and from tennis training.
Local media report that Tomic, however, may have exceeded those bounds as he was stopped at night for "hooning," or driving like a show-off teenager. Queensland police are checking "a number of alleged traffic offenses and breaches of the exemption" by Tomic, who denies the charges, adding that he is the subject of a vendetta from the cops.
