Spain's David Ferrer vows to muster one more week of tennis enthusiasm and energy to be ready for the Davis Cup final, which pits his powerful tennis nation against South American rival Argentina.
The tie in Seville next weekend will finally wrap up the season for the world No. 5, who lost in a World Tour Finals semifinal to Roger Federer 7-5, 6-3. Ferrer, 29, says that he will find the will to go on for just a bit longer despite feeling the season in his body.
"All the players know the season is very long, is very tough for us," said the Spaniard. "We play a lot of tournaments, Davis Cup, ATP tournaments, we finish in December.
"Now I will play to Davis Cup. In December I have only one week to rest and I come back in January to play in the new season. We know that and we want to change. We know is not easy, but we need to change the calendar."
Ferrer had to stress that his fighting reputation aside, he truly does need a pause. "I am tired. I am tired, sure. I'm very tired. I want to stop, but I can't because I have the Davis Cup. But I'm really tired."

Why shouldn't Ferrer be tired? He played almost non stop since the USO. He reached the SF of Tokyo, final at Shanghai, R3 or QF of Valencia, QF of Paris and then SF of WTF. He certainly is tired. No doubt Rafa had his five weeks rest, but that was after he finished 79 matches, and he wasn't playing any indoor event prior to the WTF, hence his lack lustre performance this year.

Does anyone know who is playing on Friday. I have searched in vain for the schedule of play.
Rafa seems to be in good spirits anyway. Ferrer will have recovered by the time the DC starts.
Vamos Spain

Spain is the favourite imo. Despite that I think Argentina has a shot. The only way I see Argentina winning is if del potro and nalbandian win against ferrer and argentina takes the doubles match. Nadal will win both of his matches that's almost certain.
May the best team win.

Vamos Spain is all I can say and I hope it is a really exciting DC final but there must only be one winner. Shame because I like the Argentinians too and they are fierce competitors.
Hope Rafa, David, Feli and Fernando can pull it off for Spain.
