American Mardy Fish took a set from Roger Federer, but the Swiss prevailed in the end to go 3-0 in round robin play.
Roger Federer continued his domination at the World Tour Finals with a 3-set victory over American Mardy Fish, who was unable to win a single match in London.
Of the top 4, only Federer has firmed up a spot in the semifinals. Andy Murray withdrew from the tournament, Rafael Nadal suffered his second loss to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Thursday and Novak Djokovic hasn’t played his third match yet. The Serb lost in straight sets to David Ferrer on Wednesday.
Besides a slight let-down in the second set, Federer was solid against Fish. The American was badly out-hit in the first set, but he came back to play well in the middle frame.
Federer got a break early in third, which Fish was never able to earn back. The Swiss world No. 4 moves into the semifinals where he awaits the second place finisher from group A.
