(1) Janko Tipsarevic def. (4) Nikolay Davydenko 6-2, 7-5
World No. 14 Janko Tipsarevic reached the Kremlin Cup final, having downed three-time former champion Nikolay Davydenko. The 27-year-old saved six of 7 break points, en route to a 6-2, 7-5 victory in an hour and 39 minutes. He completed the effort with 6 aces and four service breaks.
"Nikolay is one of the best groundstroke players. I had to mix it up," said Tipsarevic. "At 4-5, 0-40, I only focused on the next point and got lucky.
"I am trying not to think about London too much. I know I need to do very well in Paris in order to qualify. I have to do step-by-step."
(2) Viktor Troicki def. (Q) Jeremy Chardy 6-4, 6-4
Defending champion Viktor Troicki is through to the final, following his straight-set win over qualifier Jeremy Chardy. The 25-year-old passed through the 71-minute match with 10 of 10 service games held. He ended the day with 12 aces and 82% of his first-service points captured.
"I had to play my best tennis to beat Chardy today," said Troicki. "I knew I had to concentrate on my return games and I was happy I was able to do that. It was tough to break him.
"I had great support from the crowd once again; it is really special to play here. My father's family is Russian and Moscow is my favorite tournament. Belgrade is great for me, too, but I have had better results here."
