Monfils, Del Potro headline If Stockholm Open The fall indoor European swing begins this week, with Stockholm headlining the proceedings. Top two seeds Gael Monfils and Juan Martin Del Potro are returning to action for the stretch run.

Gael Monfils and Juan Martin Del Potro will lead the way at this week's If Stockholm Open, which helps kick off the fall indoor season.

Monfils, who headlines the field as the No. 1 seed, is in the midst of a solid 2011 campaign but he has once again been plagued by physical problems. The 10th-ranked Frenchman reached the Bangkok semifinals earlier this month then pulled out of Beijing and skipped Shanghai. He is in a tough top section of the Stockholm draw, where he could meet Bernard Tomic in round two and Kevin Anderson in the quarters.

Del Potro is an awesome 42-13 for the season, but he missed the entire Asian swing. After losing in the third round of the U.S. Open, the 15th-ranked Argentine won a pair of crucial singles rubber in a Davis Cup victory over Serbia. Del Potro awaits either James Blake or Olivier Rochus in his Stockholm opener before a potential quarterfinal clash against countryman David Nalbandian.

One of the most intriguing first-round matchups pits No. 6 seed Milos Raonic against Marcos Baghdatis. Raonic is continuing his comeback from a significant hip injury while Baghdatis is showing signs of strong play during the fall and is looking for a second Stockholm title in three years. They are in a quarter of the bracket that also includes Juan Ignacio Chela and Girgor Dimitrov.

Third-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka should not have too much trouble in a section that is home to three of the four qualifying spots. The Swiss could face Jarkko Nieminen in the second round and his nearest seed is a rusty Tommy Robredo.
