Second seed Florian Mayer won his first ATP World Tour title Sunday afternoon, having ousted 2010 finalist Pablo Andujar. The German came through the match comfortably, 6-3, 6-1.
World No. 24 Florian Mayer took home his first tour trophy following his straight-set victory over fellow seed Pablo Andujar. The German held seven of eight service games, through to a 6-3, 6-1 championship win in just 71 minutes.
After taking the opening set, Mayer built a 5-0 advantage in set two. He completed the title-winning effort with five service breaks and 20 of 27 first-service points captured.
By virtue of his championship success, the 27-year-old is expected to rise to #22 when the new rankings are released early Monday.
