    (2) Florian Mayer def. Filippo Volandri 7-6(3), 6-2

World No. 24 Florian Mayer advanced to the last match of the tournament having downed veteran Filippo Volandri in straight sets. The German collected seven aces and four service breaks en route to a 7-6(3), 6-2 victory in an hour and 38 minutes. Mayer is through to his second final of the season, after putting together a successful run in Munich.

"I feel very happy. I played really good tennis today," Mayer said, post-match. "It was a tough match because Volandri played at a very high level."

    (4) Pablo Andujar def. (1) Juan Ignacio Chela 6-4, 7-5

Fourth seed Pablo Andujar avenged last year's championship defeat to Juan Ignacio Chela, having ousted the Argentine in straight sets. The Spaniard converted five of 12 break chances, through to a 6-4, 7-5 victory in a little under two hours.

Anjudar will be making his second tour final appearance on Sunday following a title-winning effort earlier this season in Casablanca.
