Hotheaded Andy Roddick says that stylised pro wrestling is leaving tennis in the dust for entertainment value, with the American bad boy calling for more shows of temper on court.
Former No. 1 Roddick, now standing 21st, remains an expert in that field after uncorking his last explosion in August during a losing match at Cincinnati. The player remains annoyed by what he feels is too-tough enforcement of discipline and rules by chair umpires.
Roddick said that the bad old days of three decades ago when John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors insulted each other on a regular basis had something to offer - even now.
"Let's put it this way: McEnroe is still getting endorsements and he's 87 years old, so...," he joked. "I mean, what does that tell you? Love it or hate it, but watch it. I'm purely looking at this from a business standpoint, not trying to justify my own actions by any means. Let's not get that confused.
"This is the only sport that I know where you can break your own stuff and get penalised for it," he complained. "If you take your shoe and throw it and break it, what happens to you? You're out of a shoe, but it doesn't really affect anyone else.
"I think if you took a poll of who would want to see someone go mental and hit something into the stands or something, I mean, people would probably vote for that. I said in Cincinnati, there's a reason that Monday Night Raw (wrestling) gets better ratings than we do."

must say that I agree with Andy.... since McEnroe took the headphones of that poor camera man, and mentioned his hole ... tennis lost that human side.
After Big Mac.... cyborgs start to rule...from Lendl The Terrible to Roger The... well nevermind...:(
Cyborgs .... showing emotion just a little... and even that after match point.
Everybody loved Safin... just because of his temperament as much as his game.
