Novak Djokovic figures to spend more time on the court in his U.S. Open second-rounder against Carlos Berlocq on Thursday. Richard Gasquet and Janko Tipsarevic are also in action.
(1) Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Berlocq
Djokovic needed just 44 minutes to extend his 2011 record to 58-2 on Tuesday at the U.S. Open, as he was trouncing Conor Niland when the Irishman retired in the second set. Berlocq, an Argentine ranked 74th, does by far his best work on clay but he reached the Miami third round earlier this season. He is 13-19 for the year at the ATP level after a blowout first-round win over Pere Riba. On a relatively fast hard court, this should be little more than a practice session for Djokovic.
Ivo Karlovic vs. (13) Richard Gasquet
A second-round showdown between Karlovic and Gasquet pits two players in fine form against each other. Karlovic is down at No. 94 in the world due to injury, but the 6'10'' Croat owns 15 ATP wins this season and he dismissed Fernando Gonzalez in straight sets to reach the U.S. Open second round. Gasquet cruised past Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-4, 6-4, 6-0, improving his 2011 record to 31-15. The 13th-ranked Frenchman recently advanced to the third round in both Montreal and Cincinnati. A Karlovic upset is possible if he serves extremely well, but Gasquet in four sets is the pick.
Philipp Petzschner vs. (20) Janko Tipsarevic
Petzschner and Tipsarevic will be squaring off for the third time in their careers after splitting their previous two encounters. After Petzschner prevailed in Miami in 2010, Tipsarevic scored a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the same event this season. The 20th-ranked Serb has to be favored again, as he boasts a 36-18 record for his 2011 campaign after hammering Augustin Gensse in round one. Petzschner, ranked 67th, outlasted Albert Ramos in five sets to improve his record to 21-17. The German has been dealing with illness this summer, so count on Tipsarevic getting the job done in no more than four sets.

Its 4.40pm in NY right now, and they've already completed all the day matches. Cant they start the Wozniacki match now? Do they have to wait til 7?! Do they not care about those on the other side of the planet who need their sleep? This is so frustrating.
