James Blake has the chance this week at the ATP Washington stop to get one back on the doubles partner and neighbor in Florida who occasionally tries to eat him out of house and home.
Blake, who upset tournament holder David Nalbandian of Argentina, will take on good friend John Isner, going into the match with a double incentive to win. Last month in steamy Atlanta, Isner thrashed his 31-year-old friend with 30 aces in a second-round win.
In addition to that, Blake is also keen to get Isner to stop raiding his food supplies back home. “He’s taken so much food out of my fridge, he owes me a few thousand dollars. Last time I was home, I was eating breakfast at his house just about every morning.
"We practise together so often that I’ve seen his serve a million times - it doesn’t get any easier,” said the player from Tampa, Florida, also Isner's training base.
