Robert Kendrick will be out of tennis until next May 21 after the ITF announced that the 31-year-old had tested positive at the French Open for a banned stimulant, methylhexaneamine.
Kendrick, ranked 105 who has played only one other losing match in June on grass in the Netherlands since his test said he accidently ingested the substance after taking a jet-lag prevention table.
The London-based ITF said that despite buying into the player's explanation, Kendrick would still have to serve out his punishment.
The ITF said that Kendrick told them in his defence that he was not intending to enhance performance by taking what turned out to be a poor choice of medication. "It is the player’s strict personal duty to ensure that no prohibited substance enters his body, whether as a prescription medication or otherwise, unless he holds a valid therapeutic use exemption for such substance," the ITF said in a statement.

Be real jean if it was any player in the top 10 this would surely have been covered up and you know it! They only publicize these positive tests for guys like Robbie and Odesnik to make it seem they are doing something. Richard got away with a positive cocaine test, the same thing that Hingis retired from.

If this was Rafa, Numero and Dnalves would be making all sorts of lies in addition. But because it's a yank, I'm sure Numero doesn't have a problem at all.
