Either John Isner or Olivier Rochus will win his first title of the year in Newport at the Tennis Hall of Fame.
Last year’s finalist Olivier Rochus will have another chance at the Newport title and he will once again face an American in the final.
Last year, Rochus faced down the current top American player Mardy Fish; the Belgian won the opening set, before Fish rebounded for a three-set victory. In this edition, Rochus will take on the big-serving American John Isner, best known for winning the longest match in tennis history last year at Wimbledon against Nicolas Mahut.
Isner has been serving well this week, though his return game has been less effective. Rochus, who is a foot and three inches shorter than the 6 foot 9 inch Isner, actually stands a chance at winning the title. The outcome of the match will depend on how well Isner serves. If the American manages to keep his first service percentage up, he will likely come away with the victory – though not without a tiebreaker or two to keep the match interesting.
Prediction- Isner in 2 tight sets.

Isner in 2, with one tiebreaker. Rochus is going to have to step up to the baseline or even in front of it to take those serves on the rise. Just like Russell has tried to do in his matchups with Isner.... Easier said than done, of course.

Quite a height differential. If Isner can hold all of his serves he should get a couple of chances on Oli's serve to break.
