Jim Courier has defended his unorthodox corporate look on the Davis Cup bench, with the former player saying he's quite comfortable wearing a suit while directing his troops in the heat of battle.
The American captain has to be the only tennis captain ever to smarten up to such an extent, but Courier hints he won't be sidetracked by various comments from the blogosphere.
The four-time champion copped a humourous serve from Andy Murray's talkative mother Judy, and said that the corporate look is fine for him,
"The suit is what I'm comfortable wearing. I like the way basketball coaches look when they're with their teams," he said. "I thought that would be something good to emulate. This is what I want to wear. It's neither right nor wrong. It's just me."
The retired player said that of the 40 or so suite he owns, most were given to him to use in television commentary work.

There is no need for the captain to wear a track suit because he is not going to do any thing other than sit there. Football managers wear suits so I hope it catches on in tennis.

I think it looks very smart. Why not? It's not like he's going to be out there warming them up or something.

Yeah he looks like the team's lawyer rather than their coach.
