Three-time champion Germany is set to host 2010 runner-up France beginning Friday, as the two nations battle in Davis Cup. Both countries look to advance to the semifinal.
Host nation Germany is set for a 9th Davis Cup clash with visiting France beginning Friday afternoon. Germany has chosen Florian Mayer and Philipp Kohlschreiber to compete in singles.
Rounding out the team are Christopher Kas and Philipp Petzschner, who are slated for doubles duty. The team is coached by Patrik Kuhnen.
Germany began its 2011 Davis Cup run with a 3-2 success against Croatia, with Kohlschreiber and Petzschner taking key singles wins.
The French team, coached by Guy Forget, has selected Richard Gasquet and Gael Monfils in singles, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra in doubles.
France, who leads the Germans 6-2 in the series, finished runner-up to Serbia in 2010. The tie will be contested on clay outdoors.
