Novak Djokovic is a single win away from taking the World No. 1 ranking, after coming through his semifinal clash with qualifier Bernard Tomic. The second seed secured the victory in four sets Wednesday afternoon.
World No. 2 Novak Djokovic recorded his 46th victory of the season, having upended Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic on Wednesday. The 24-year-old collected 39 winners, 14 aces and 6 service breaks, en route to a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win in two hours and 41 minutes.
After splitting the first two sets, Djokovic trailed 1-3 in the third. The Serbian fought back to level at 3-3, then won the remaining games to close the set. Tomic looked to turn the tide in set four, having dug out of a 0-2 deficit. Djokovic earned a key break at 5-5, with help from a well-timed drop shot.
"My focus is to win every single match I play, obviously," said Djokovic. "But I'm aware of the importance of every match that I play. I'm very close to reaching the No. 1, but I try not to think about that too much.
"I need to work a little bit on my game. I hope I can perform a little bit better than I did today. That's what matters for me the most, regardless who is across the net. Tsonga came back from 0-2. It's amazing comeback. He's been playing great in grass-court season so far. He's very dangerous."
The World No. 2 is slated to face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for a spot in the championship final. The Frenchman rallied from a 0-2 hole to beat Roger Federer, 3-6, 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Tomic could have ended many points at the net.He seems to be a great player though.Djokovic is indeed feeling some pressure but he's still only lost one match this year.Amazing.
