    Malisse moves on, Tomic sinks Soderling Xavier Malisse is through to the round of 16, after knocking out 11th seed Jurgen Melzer in straight sets. Qualifier Bernard Tomic also advanced, having upset World No. 5 Robin Soderling in three sets.

    World No. 158 Bernard Tomic reached his first Grand Slam round of 16, having ousted fifth seed Robin Soderling on Saturday. The 26-year-old Swede played far below his usual level, however, after complaining of flu-like symptoms for two days. The 18-year-old Australian completed his third-round effort with four service breaks, 13 aces and 36 winners.

    He will face veteran Xavier Malisse for a place in the quarterfinal.

    World No. 42 Xavier Malisse recorded his 20th match win of the season, following his three-set victory over 11th seed Jurgen Melzer. The 30-year-old Belgian converted six of 7 break chances, en route to a 7-6(5), 6-3, 6-0 success in 96 minutes of play. Malisse ended the match with 39 winners and 19 aces.
