Xavier Malisse is through to the round of 16, after knocking out 11th seed Jurgen Melzer in straight sets. Qualifier Bernard Tomic also advanced, having upset World No. 5 Robin Soderling in three sets.

World No. 158 Bernard Tomic reached his first Grand Slam round of 16, having ousted fifth seed Robin Soderling on Saturday. The 26-year-old Swede played far below his usual level, however, after complaining of flu-like symptoms for two days. The 18-year-old Australian completed his third-round effort with four service breaks, 13 aces and 36 winners.
He will face veteran Xavier Malisse for a place in the quarterfinal.

World No. 42 Xavier Malisse recorded his 20th match win of the season, following his three-set victory over 11th seed Jurgen Melzer. The 30-year-old Belgian converted six of 7 break chances, en route to a 7-6(5), 6-3, 6-0 success in 96 minutes of play. Malisse ended the match with 39 winners and 19 aces.
