Federer rolls into showdown with Nalbandian Roger Federer eases past Adrian Mannarino on Thursday at the All-England Club. Federer moves on to a Wimbledon third-round clash against David Nalbandian, while Nicolas Almagro takes out John Isner.

Roger Federer cruised into the Wimbledon third round on Thursday evening, dismissing Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in a mere one hour and 28 minutes. Federer did not drop serve a single time and fired 11 aces without double-faulting.

Mannarino needed four hours to defeat Conor Niland 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(7), 4-6, 6-4 in round one and it showed right from the start. The 55th-ranked Frenchman did not win a single point in his first four return games and dropped the opening frame of play in just 25 minutes.

Federer only kept things in cruise control the rest of the way. The third-ranked Swiss made one break stand up in the second because he saved all three of the break points that he faced. Federer added two more breaks in the third and served out the proceedings with ease at 5-2.

Next up for the six-time Wimbledon champion is David Nalbandian, a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 winner over Andreas Haider-Maurer.

Federer and Nalbandian are joined in the third round by Nicolas Almagro, who held off John Isner 7-6(3), 7-6(5), 6-7(5), 6-3. Almagro turned in an incredible performance with 63 winners and only 14 unforced errors as he prevailed after two hours and 39 minutes.

Isner was once again all-serve, just as he was last year in his marathon 70-68 in the fifth set win over Nicolas Mahut. The 6'9'' American did not see a single break point against Almagro, but he managed to take care of his own serve throughout the first three sets. Isner lost the first two tiebreakers, but he pulled out the third to extend the match.

In the end, one break decided the outcome. It went to Almagro and he served out the match the rest of the way. Isner wrapped up his effort with 28 aces and two double-faults, while Almagro recorded 25 aces and two doubles. The 16th-seeded Spaniard will face Mikhail Youzhny for a spot in the fourth round.
