    Roddick, Gasquet advance to third round Fellow seeds Andy Roddick and Richard Gasquet are through to the round of 32, after recording straight-set victories against respective opponents Victor Hanescu and Igor Kunitsyn.

    World No. 10 Andy Roddick reached the third round, following his three-set win over veteran Victor Hanescu late Wednesday. The 28-year-old American broke to 2-0 in both the first and second sets, then followed with a key break in the third. Aggressive play gave Roddick a 40-0 edge on Hanescu’s serve in the 10th game, as he closed the match with a strong forehand.

    The three-time finalist ended the evening with 15 aces and 39 winners.

    He is slated to take on Feliciano Lopez for a place in the round of 16. The Spaniard held on to defeat veteran Rainer Schuettler in round two, 7-6(3), 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-2.

    (17) Richard Gasquet def. Igor Kunitsyn 6-1, 6-4, 6-4

    World No. 13 Richard Gasquet passed through the second round, having ousted Russian Igor Kunitsyn in straight sets Wednesday afternoon. The 25-year-old Frenchman hit 42 winners and 10 aces, en route to a 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 success in 98 minutes. Solid on the return, Gasquet converted six of 8 break points opportunities during the match.

    He will face Simone Bolelli in the third round. The Italian upset 14th seed Stanislas Wawrinka in round two, 7-6(5), 6-3, 7-6(4).
