The once-in-a-lifetime statistical freak of nature which threw up a second-straight Wimbledon first round match between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut could fall well short of expectations.
Frenchman Mahut, who lost the longest match in tennis history played in the 2010 first round against the American, has told France's L'Equipe that he's not at all fit. The No. 99 said that he's suffering with tendinitis and knee problems and does not expect to pull up fit for his Tuesday match.
Isner won the epic a year ago after more than 11 hours on court in a contest which ran over three days and ended 70-68 in the fifth set. Lightning struck twice as the pair were randomly selected to face off again in this year's opening round.
The exhausted Isner lost in the second round to Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker, winning just five games and then spending a month off court just recovering.

Sorry Nicolas isn't well, but if it means something less tan a 3-4 hour match, then so be it.

That's a shame that Nicolas isn't feeling well.
