Andy Murray's part-time adidas coach Darren Cahill watches from afar as the Scot takes on the grass courts of London.
Andy Murray may be surprised, but somehow his part-time coach Darren Cahill has been following his progress of his matches on grass at Queen's Club from the comfort of his Las Vegas family home as the Australian ex-player takes a break prior to returning for Wimbledon.
With comprehensive American TV coverage hardly guaranteed from one moment to the next when it comes to tennis, Murray remains puzzled as to how his sometimes-mentor can be so all-knowing.
"I don't know where he's watching them, but he is watching because he's been messaging me," said the Scot. "He's in Vegas, I know that, but I don't know what he's watching it on."
Murray has been working as much as possible with Cahill, former coach of Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt and also a broadcaster at major events. As an adidas player, Murray has the use of Cahill's expertise - but not when playing a match against another on the same marque.
Cahill, however, has further complications, with his ESPN broadcasting gig taking first priority. "He did stay away a lot during the French," said Murray. "I spoke to him more like a little bit after the matches, but not about really tactics and stuff beforehand.
"It (Paris)) wasn't the same as like the week before when we spent every day on the court together, and then like in Madrid or Rome where he's in the box watching and I'm speaking to him, he's on the practise court every day."

So Muzz is in the semis, will it be Andy v. Andy?

What's the chance of an AndyM and Ward finals?
phoenix , 6/10/11 5:39 PM
lol phoenix..who would I cheer for then..;) No chance I'd say 1) Andy R is looking very good and rested and probably wants it more than Andy M and poor wee James has to get though a very talented young Frenchman and then Rafa/JoWilfred. He'd need his cage fighter on court with him to have any chance....!

yep, like rafa today, I reckon one more match might be all the wimbie preparation muzz needs, and a-rod will give him a terrific grass court tester.

Come on Andy Roddick!!
pennster , 6/11/11 5:12 AM
deuce, James is in the semis so there's a chance, however small might that be. who knows, with the crowd behind him, we might see another upset today. as for AndyM, you are right though. AndyR is the hungrier of the two.
