Tournament seeds Tomas Berdych and Gael Monfils advanced to the final four at the Gerry Weber Open, following their straight-set victories over respective opponents Viktor Troicki and Florian Mayer.

World No. 7 Tomas Berdych is through to the semifinal, after taking out fifth seed Viktor Troicki on Friday. The 25-year-old Czech tallied 13 aces and two service breaks, en route to a 7-6(3), 6-1 quarterfinal victory in an hour and 21 minutes. Troicki had difficulty with his second serve, unable to win more than nine of 20 points.
Berdych is slated to take on Philipp Petzschner for a place in the final. The German held on to defeat 8th seed Milos Raonic in the quarterfinal, 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3.
(3) Gael Monfils def. (6) Florian Mayer 6-4, 6-4
World No. 8 Gael Monfils improved his series advantage to 3-0 against 6th seed Florian Mayer on Friday. The 24-year-old Frenchman needed just 65 minutes to record a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the quarterfinal. Monfils, who held nine of 10 service games, converted three of 4 break point opportunities during the match.
He will meet Philipp Kohlschreiber in the semifinal. The German beat defending champion Lleyton Hewitt in the quarterfinal, 7-6(4), 6-3.
