Former player Greg Rusedski has tipped Andy Murray as the candidate to possibly end three-quarters of a century of British tennis frustration, saying the Scot has the game to win Wimbledon.
"Andy is capable of winning Wimbledon," the Canadian-born Briton told the BBC, adding: "He has to believe in playing aggressive tennis. He has to keep his attitude in check."
Murray is testing an ankle injury this week as second seed at Queen's club, west London, his tuneup event for Wimbledon starting June 20. "Expect Andy in the semis - but if he is going to take that next step he has to play aggressive and keep his mind in check.
"People want role models, they want superstars. There is no bigger tournament on the planet than Wimbledon and the last British winner on the men's side was Fred Perry."
Rusedski, a former US Open finalist. said Murray needs just minor ("0.5 percent") improvement in his game and urged him to follow the example set by Novak Djokovic this season, whose 41-match win streak from January ended in the French Open semi-finals against Roger Federer.
"If he's going to take that next step he has to play aggressive and keep his mind in check. You are dealing with such small margins. If you look at Djokovic, who won his second Slam this year, he has got everything better - from his diet, to his equipment, to his training to playing more aggressively."

This is just another non-article. Feel as stu does. You shouldn't be giving Rusedski the oxygen of publicity for his fatuous remarks.

And again we go with the same quotes. We all know that Andy has the game and quality of play to win any tournament any time. And we all know that he needs to be a little more agressive and improve his menta toughness and attitude and then he'll achieve a lot. Enough pressure on him and leave him work.

oh geez, give's a break.
nothing new said. nothing said.
and wheeling out rusedski to say nothing isn't exactly going to get folks to sit up.
get becks or that boxer guy - or even wozniacki - to say something and you could at least put a shiney cover on it.
and rusedski's not even doing what you're saying he's doing - i.e. 'tipping Murray' - just saying he's 'capable' of doing it, like everyone knows 3 other guys are too only moreso.
yep, unamimous thumbs down on that one.

Johan Lindahl? Another badly written non-story, with a misleading tease of a headline? Check.
