6/8/11 4:09 AM | Cheryl Murray
No. 2 seed Andy Murray will take the court in front of his countrymen as he tests out the ankle he injured at the French Open.
Andy Murray vs. Xavier Malisse
Xavier Malisse is not the easiest first opponent on a grass court. The Belgian has a big game and a big serve and when he plays well, he is a force to be reckoned with on fast surfaces. Fortunately for Murray, that level play happens rarely for Malisse, who struggles with consistency.
Murray comes into the tournament off the light balls and slow court surface in Paris, where he reached the semi-finals of the French Open. Expect the Scot to have some difficulty in the beginning of the match making the transition, but in the end, Murray should add another win to his 3-0 head-to-head record over Malisse.
David Nalbandian vs. Ilija Bozoljac
Argentina’s David Nalbandian is back after months of layoff time with an adductor injury. He had a good win on Tuesday over Illya Marchenko. The world No. 24’s next opponent is the 200 ranked Ilija Bozoljac from Serbia. Bozoljac is largely a Challenger-level player. He failed to qualify for Nottingham Challenger event last week.
This will be an excellent opportunity for Nalbandian to move into the round of 16.
