Andy Roddick and Feliciano Lopez will battle in a second round blockbuster on the lawns of the Queen’s Club.
Andy Roddick vs. Feliciano Lopez
American Andy Roddick heads into this match with a prohibitive 6-0 head-to-head over Feliciano Lopez. In truth, the two men play a similar game. They are big servers that rely almost exclusively on the serve-forehand combination. The difference is that Roddick’s serve is bigger than Lopez’s.
One thing in the Spaniard’s favor is that he already has a grass court win under his belt. Roddick hasn’t played a match since he lost in the first round to Gilles Simon in Rome. The American’s form is questionable since he hasn’t been competitive since a round of 16 showing at Indian Wells.
This is an excellent chance for Lopez to get his first win over Roddick. Either way though, expect a classic grass-court serve-fest.
David Nalbandian vs. Illya Marchenko
Popular Argentine veteran David Nalbandian will be back in action for the first time since he played Davis Cup in March. Nalbandian has been struggling with a groin injury since the March tie against Romania. He underwent surgery for a torn adductor and has only just now recovered enough to take to the court.
Marchenko is ranked 108 to Nalbandian’s 24, but the Argentine will surely be rusty after such a long layoff. The Ukrainian for the win.
