Lleyton Hewitt could not have imagined a tougher return to tennis after three injury months away, The former No. 1 will face off in a repeat of last year's final on grass at Halle when he takes on Roger Federer in the first round.
The five-time champion Federer was upset by the Aussie a year ago for the title at the German event which mimics the Wimbledon colour scheme - and which also had a moveable roof years before the All England club installed one over Centre court.
But it's hard luck for Hewitt, who had to withdraw from the French Open after a slow recovery from foot surgery and had perhaps been counting on a somewhat easier return to the ATP.
Prior to the 2010 Halle final, Hewitt had lost 15 straight to the Swiss. Two-time grand Slam champion Hewitt could find his 67th ranking in danger if he loses in the first round and could possibly slide from the Top 100.
