    Ferrer, Dolgopolov through to Nice quarterfinal Top seed David Ferrer made a successful debut in Nice, after taking out Andreas Seppi in straight sets. The Spaniard is joined in the quarterfinal by Alexandr Dolgopolov, who defeated qualifier Pere Riba.

    World No. 7 David Ferrer is through to the quarterfinal, following his straight-set victory over Andreas Seppi. The 29-year-old Spaniard collected 6 aces and three service breaks, on his way to a 6-3, 6-2 success in 71 minutes. Ferrer completed his effort with 22 of 23 first-service points captured.

    He will face 5th seed Alexandr Dolgopolov for a spot in the semifinal.

    (5) Alexandr Dolgopolov def. (Q) Pere Riba 7-6(5), 7-6(5)

    Fifth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov advanced to the final eight by virtue of his 7-6(5), 7-6(5) win against qualifier Pere Riba. The 22-year-old Ukranian struck 8 aces through an hour and 45 minutes of play. He is through to his first quarterfinal since February, when he reached the last four in Acapulco.
