Tournament seed Alexandr Dolgopolov broke a string of four opening-round losses, as he defeated veteran Filippo Volandri on Sunday. The Ukranian is joined in round two by Adrian Mannarino, who downed Somdev Devvarman.

Fifth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov is through to the second round, following his straight-set success against Filippo Volandri. The 22-year-old won his first match since Miami, having snapped a four-match losing streak Sunday afternoon. Dolgopolov secured four of 12 break points, en route to a 7-5, 6-3 win in 81 minutes.
He is slated to face either qualifier Pere Riba or qualifier Guillaume Rufin in the next round.
Adrian Mannarino vs. Somdev Devvarman 6-3, 7-6(7)
Adrian Mannarino won his opening-round match against Somdev Devvarman in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(7). The Frenchman saved five of 7 break points, through to a first-round victory in an hour and 56 minutes of play. Mannarino, who posted his 10th Tour-level success this season, recorded his first win over Devvarman in three attempts.
He will face off against second seed Tomas Berdych for a spot in the round of 16.
