Andy Murray is taking advantage of top coaching from his adidas sponsors, with the Scot working this week at the Madrid Masters with Australian Darren Cahill.
The former mentor of Andre Agassi will help out the No. 4 on a temporary basis, a service provided to all players wearing the marque.
In addition, the coachless-for-months Murray will get in some prep work with Cahill prior to the French Open. Murray will be testing an elbow he injured in Monte Carlo last month. Murray has been without a mentor since last summer as he and Miles MacLagan parted company; Murray split in April with part-time advisor Alex Corretja of Spain.
Murray said he's been pleased with his workout directed by Cahill, 45. But he said it's all about polishing his game. "You're not making huge changes technically or to the way that you play," added the Scot.
"This is more for (Cahill) to be around my practices, watch my matches and then the week before the French Open we'll have five or six days to work on some things. I'm sure that's where most of the work will be done."
Murray played a Monte Carlo semi-final against Rafael Nadal, taking a set off the Spaniard while competing with his right elbow injected with painkillers. After letting that heal, he got back to training and will have been back on court for more than a week by the time his opening Madrid match begins.
