    (7) Nikolay Davydenko def. (3) Marin Cilic 7-5, 6-3

Seventh seed Nikolay Davydenko is through to the semifinal by virtue of his straight-set victory over third seed Marin Cilic late Friday. The 29-year-old Russian saved six of 7 break point chances through an hour and 49 minutes of play. With the quarterfinal-round win, Davydenko made his first semifinal since Doha, where he finished runner-up to World No. 3 Roger Federer.

He will face off against veteran Radek Stepanek for a place in the championship final. The Czech ousted eighth seed Philipp Kohlschreiber in the quarterfinal, 6-4, 6-0.

    (5) Florian Mayer def. Grigor Dimitrov 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-4

Fifth seed Florian Mayer made the final four, following his three-set win against Grigor Dimitrov. The 27-year-old German fought off nine of 12 break points, en route to a 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-4 success in two hours and 23 minutes. After winning the second set, the Bulgarian had four chances to break serve in the decider, but was unable to convert.

“It was a really tough match and a really good match. I think Dimitrov played really tough and I was just the lucky man today who won," Mayer said, post-victory. "He’s 19-years-old and he has a really good serve, forehand and backhand; I think he will be in the Top 20 very soon.”

Mayer is slated to take on fellow German Philipp Petzschner in the semifinal. Petzschner defeated Potito Starace in the quarterfinal, 7-6(3), 7-6(6).
