Though down a set, Viktor Troicki benefited from a Tommy Robredo injury to move safely into the quarterfinals.
Tommy Robredo’s injury woes continued on Thursday in his third-round match against Viktor Troicki. The Spanish veteran was actually up a set, having won the first 6-3, when he was forced to retire with a thigh injury.
This appears to be the same injury that forced the Spaniard to withdraw from Indian Wells prior to his quarterfinal match against Juan Martin Del Potro.
Robredo’s retirement gives Troicki a chance to take on Spaniard David Ferrer in the quarterfinals on Friday.
