World No. 35 Milos Raonic survived a second-set lull to down veteran Michael Llodra in three sets. The 20-year-old Canadian, who collected 5 aces during the match, converted five of 7 break point chances through and hour and 19 minutes of play.
"It just sort of took a little bit of figuring out what to do," explained Raonic, post-match.
"I'm still sort of trying to find my game, what the right way to play on clay is for me. I was fortunate enough to get through that one and sort of give myself another chance to pick up more experience in a real match situation."
