  • Andujar and Starace fight for Casablanca title

    4/10/11 4:21 AM | Cheryl Murray
Andujar and Starace fight for Casablanca title A new ATP title holder will be crowned on Sunday in Casablanca as Pablo Andujar and Potito Starace clash in the finals.

Neither Pablo Andujar nor Potito Starace has ever won an ATP tour-level title. Both men are clay-court specialists, most at home on the red dirt and they each made appearances in South America early this year in the first clay court swing of the year.

The two men have faced off twice, once just this year in Santiago, Chile. Starace won that match in surprisingly easy straight sets. Italy’s Starace is higher ranked at No. 47 to Andujar’s 69.

Starace will come into the match as the favorite. The Italian is a tour veteran who has played 288 matches to just 57 for Andujar.

Expect a hard-fought match with Starace coming through for the title.
