Andy Murray has put off the looming decision over a permanent coach, deciding instead to utilise the services of the coaching pool of his clothing sponsor adidas to see him through the immediate future.
The decision, announced as the Scot put in his entry for the Wimbledon Queen's club tune-up event, only delays the inevitable as to whom the world No. 4 might pick to further guide his career.
"It's not the fix to what I'm looking for but short-term, while I'm looking for the right person, there are some people there [at adidas] with a lot of experience who can help me," Murray said.
Murray had a poor March, with opening losses to lowly American opponents Donald Young and Alex Bogomolov in the two Masters 1000 tournaments in the US. He will now venture onto the clay courts of Monte Carlo from the weekend without a permanent coach on hand.
But Murray will have the benefits of an all-star team which includes respected coaches Darren Cahill of Australia and Sven Groeneveld as well as Andre Agassi's former fitness trainer Gil Reyes. All players contracted with the marque can call upon the team for help.
It's been months since Murray had a proper coach, after splitting with Miles MacLagan in July and then parting company last month with Spanish advisor Alex Corretja.
Once he gets onto grass in June, Murray will be trying to win his second home title after taking the Queen's trophy in 2009. Also playing: the top two in the world in Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Juan Martin Del Potro and four-time champion Andy Roddick are also included.
"Winning my first grass-court title here in 2009 was an amazing feeling," said Murray. "It means a lot to me to have my name on the trophy next to great champions such as John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Rafael Nadal who have won it in the past. Usually players that have done well at Queen's have gone on to do well at Wimbledon. I can't wait to get playing."

How cheap can he be? Just open your wallet and blow out the dust, Andy.
I suspect he is trying as long as he can to keep his momma in the box. Judy please go away and let your son grow up.
