    Houston - Isner cruises, Querrey falls to Sweeting John Isner breezed into the quarterfinals with a routine straight-set victory over Horacio Zeballos late Wednesday. The fourth seed is joined by fellow American Ryan Sweeting, who upset Sam Querrey in three sets.

    Fourth seed John Isner advanced to the final eight, following his 7-5, 6-3 win over Horacio Zeballos Wednesday night. The American, who tallied 14 aces through 71 minutes, secured key service breaks at 6-5 in the opening set and 1-1 in the second.

    Isner will meet Ivo Karlovic in the quarterfinal. The veteran qualifier defeated Igor Kunitsyn in the second round, 6-4, 6-1.

    (WC) Ryan Sweeting def. (2) Sam Querrey 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-3

    World No. 93 Ryan Sweeting is through to the Houston quarterfinals after rallying to oust 2010 finalist Sam Querrey Wednesday evening. The wildcard trailed by an early service break in the decider, but came back to break at 3-2. Sweeting held multiple match points at 5-3, but was unable to close on his first three attempts. After saving six break points, Sweeting completed the match on a forehand error from Querrey.

    He is slated to take on Teymuraz Gabashvili for a place in the semifinal. The Russian ousted 8th seed Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 16, 7-6(4), 6-3.
