Marcos Baghdatis will make his 2011 Casablanca debut against Andrey Kuznetsov as the second round kicks off at the Grand Prix Hassan II.
Marcos Baghdatis vs. Andrey Kuznetsov
World No. 26 Marcos Baghdatis should not have much difficulty in his opening round match against Russia’s Andrey Kuznetsov. The Russian is ranked 244 in the world and plays almost exclusively on the Challenger circuit. He attempted to qualify at the Australian Open, but he was knocked out in the first round by Vincent Millot. Baghdatis hasn’t had the best start to the year, but he has a pair of quarterfinal results in Rotterdam and Brisbane and a third round showing at the Australian Open. Baghdatis in straight sets.
Jeremy Chardy vs. Pablo Andujar
This will be the first ever meeting between Jeremy Chardy and Pablo Andujar. France’s Chardy is the higher ranked of the two men at No. 51, but Andujar is a something of a clay court specialist, while Chardy performs better on quicker surfaces.
Andujar actually had a promising result in Miami last week, with wins over Bernard Tomic and Fernando Verdasco. Prediction – Andujar in three sets.
